This year's Citizen of The Year is Carl Tyburski.
Carl's Accomplishments:- Life Saving Award in 1998 for pulling a man from a sinking vehicle that had plunged into the Connecticut River.
Volunteer Coordinator of Gallery Control on the 9th hole for the Hartford JayCee's at the PGA Travelers Champions. This tournament benefits the Greater Hartford Jaycees which is a volunteer group of young men and woman with a focus on leadership development through community service.
- Special Olympics volunteer for the annual Winter event held in Simsbury, CT.
- Coached 3rd and 4th grade girls for 2 years as a volunteer basketball coach at the Ludlow Boys and Girls Club.
- Corporator on the Board at the Ludlow Girls and Boys Club where he donates his time and money.
- Member of the Diversity Advocate Council for Northeast Utilities.
- Recently helped to extract 3 severely injured victims (1 pilot and 2 Utility Line workers), from a helicopter crash in Lee, MA (click here for the story).
